Add a printer in xp mode windows 7

Did an installation disc come with the printer? April 4th, , PM 3. A disk came with it, so I install it just like I did originally in my windows 7, only do it in XP mode. I can handle that. Thank You for your reply. April 4th, , PM 4. Let us know the outcome. April 4th, , PM 5. Didn't work. I installed the driver from the disk and it showed no printer and said it wasn't installed.

I installed the driver from canon web site, same thing. April 4th, , PM 6. Remove CD. Open all installed printers. You'll see two hp printers: hp AND hp Reboot Vista pc. New hardware found will display showing hp It will then complete with "installed successfully".

Then the box will fade away in a few seconds. Navigate to all of your installed printers. You should not see hp listed Repeat step 15 if it's there and reboot again.

You should see hp listed. Do a test print to the printer. Should work with no errors. Optional: Right click and set as default. I don't know if this helps but try it anyway. Good Luck. I followed the instructions above but when I got to add the driver, the HP a network printer was not listed and I could not find my old HP XP disk to install it.

It found my HP on my home network, it loaded the drivers and set it up. When it finished, it said I needed to restart my computer to finish the install. Not sure I wanted to shutdown my computer, I clicked "restart now" button on the HP software install screen. If you have a network printer that has XP install software, try it. It seemed a lot easier than the TS guess method. I have read several threads on here but can't quite find the answer. How do I get XP Mode to print to the desktop?

Any help will be very appreciated I have the same question Report abuse. Details required :. Cancel Submit. Figured it out! How satisfied are you with this reply?
